HiChore Privacy Policy

HiChore is a chore and rewards app for families. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and how you can delete it.
Who we are
The data controller is Byte Break Studios LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: mwingfie@gmail.com
What we collect
- Sign-in identifiers. When a parent signs in with Apple or Google, we receive a user ID and, if you choose to share it, an email address (Apple may provide a private relay address).
- Parent display name. The name a parent shows to the family.
- Kid first names or nicknames. Entered by a parent. We recommend a nickname rather than a full name.
- Avatar IDs. The identifier of the picture chosen for each kid.
- Chore, reward and star records. Chores, rewards, completions, star adjustments and redemptions.
Paired kid devices sign in anonymously with a pairing code. They do not provide any personal information.
Children
HiChore is operated by parents. We do not collect personal information from children. The only child-related data is a first name or nickname and an avatar ID, entered by a parent. Children do not create accounts, and the app has no ads, chat or links that lead children away from the app. A parent PIN protects the parent area.
Where data is stored
Data is stored in our backend hosted by Supabase, and cached on your devices so the app works offline. Supabase acts as our processor.
What we do not do
- No advertising.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No third-party analytics.
- We do not sell or share your data.
Retention and deletion
- Kids deleted by a parent are permanently purged after 30 days.
- Chore completions, star adjustments and redemptions older than 90 days are compacted into monthly totals, which keep the star balance accurate without detailed history.
- Parents can delete their account or the whole family at any time from within the app. This permanently removes the associated data.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data in the app. For any other request, contact us at the address above.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above.
